How to decorate your Airbnb on a budget!
Hey Friends,
It’s been a while since my last blog post and boy has a lot changed in the last few months. I have been busy creating a design tip series on my IG, if you haven’t checked that out yet click here. I went back to staging houses a couple days a week and of course creating amazing short term rentals for my clients has been top priority these last few months.
I know this is a busy season and also a time where money isn’t free flowing so I feel inspired to help my fellow hosts learn how to create a space that looks and feels luxurious without the price tag because even when times are tight you can’t skimp on good design or your rental bookings will suffer.
There are many stores out there that you can easily access that have amazing furniture and decor. Amazon, Wayfair, Target, World Market, Overstock, Article and Joss & Main to name a few that carry product lines that not only save your budget but are great quality. The secret to furnishing your short term rental on a budget is to take extra time sourcing (looking for deals) and reading reviews to see how the items hold up.
I was on a misison this week to create an entire living room using only one easily accessible store. I wanted to prove to hosts that great design doesn’t have to blow your budget and I believe the results speak for themselves,
Can you believe this ENTIRE living room is from IKEA and came in under $3K!!! I know you are probably thinking GREAT but where do I even begin when walking into a store or sourcing online, so below I have put together my thought process to building out this IKEA living space.
I always start my room designs with one piece of furniture and start building out from there, in this case I choose this black sofa that not only looks more expensive than what it is but will also hold up to any wear and tear. From there I added these neutral armchairs that compliment the sofa well and help brighten up the space. I always use rugs in my designs for added texture and warmth. Don’t be scared to use them in your Airbnb as there are so many stain resistant options at great price points.
Once I have my larger furniture pieces I start building out the full design by adding a tv stand, coffee table, side tables and wall art. I like to choose my wall art before textiles so that I can pull colors from the art to use for throw pillows, throws and decor. I then finish of the space by adding task lighting and a pop of greenery and VOLIA, a well designed living space on a small budget!
I hope this blog gives you the confidence to create your own beautiful space but if you are feeling like you need design help or you just don’t have time to be sourcing reach out here and I’d love to help!!
